I assume you have the 300mmED mounted in front of the PDF via a custom 67 lens mount adapter? I'm looking at making one of these 67-PDF adapters to use with my Proline11k, PDF and a couple of 67 lenses (an SMC 300mm non ED and an SMC 200mm). I currently use a Robofocus belt drive - but much prefer the PDF option.

at the time everyone else was struggling with 35mm lenses either hand focusing or using a belt drive and Robofocus. But I just wanted to put a focuser like my DF2 in series with a filter wheel and camera and focus at infinity. The Pentax 6x7 lenses did that for me with ~87mm of back focus
that gave me interchangeability in the dark.
