Steve, leaving aside who wrote what etc... I can only assume that if they are using these 'facts' to attack relativity their argument must run something like 'People (misuse) relativity to justify things we don't like. Therefore there is something wrong with relativity.' How can this be justified? Relativity must be judged on what it says and the predictions it makes. And it only makes predictions about the physical world.
In a similar vein, how many times have people used Darwin, or more likely some misconception of Darwin, to argue a socio/political point? Whatever the quality of their argument it isn't the fault of Darwin.
Sorry, that sort of misuse of science gets me on my soapbox. Now back to the periodic table.
