Hi Everyone;

I'm yet another new face (er name) on the forum and I'm currently pondering taking the plunge and purchasing a system. Some advice/comments/assistance to help out on a point I've been wrestling with would be muchly appreciated.

OK, so Skywatcher is soon to release in Oz, an autotracking, GoTo (SynScan) dobsonian (10 inch for me - probably). I'm interested in the collapsible version. They say that the telescope can be moved by hand without the need for re-alignment (courtesy of its tracking system).

The other comparable option which results in similar functionality would seem to be to purchase the autotracking Skywatcher dob and buy an ArgoNavis resulting in 'push-to' navigation (and tracking).

So what baffles me is that the Argo etc option costs about 50% more !!

Is the comparison valid or am I missing something ?
