14 July 2010 Crescent moon at 5.47pm

it was windy, cool and low cloud was about but i managed to get a happy snap of the crescent moon.
I tried a HDR - and in hindsight i should have had the tracking working better. taken through the 127ED facing the wind (LOL) with the cooled Canon 40D. Its a ordinary but it does show the earthshine

on another note when do you use king rate, lunar rate, and sidereal rate - especially when the object is getting close to the horizon?
