Have a look at Astroplanner.
You have to feed it a list of objects, but the Bambos 600 (another IIS thread) would be an excellent starting point. It then tells you what is visible from your location. It can interface with most common scopes. I'm having a bit of trouble getting my AP working with it, but the LX-90 works fine. You can download a DeepSkySurvey image of your list of objects and store images of these objects as well.
Best of all, its ~$50. Version 1 works well, Version 2 is in Beta. The author responds to requests & bugs promptly too!
