Has anyone considered doing yearly awards for the best astronomical equipment?
bang for your buck under $1000", best portable setup under $2000, best eyepiece range under $200, best australian dealer ect.
Might take a bit of work and could never be entirely comprehensive, but could really help newbies from making mistakes, make for great discussions.
Who knows, telescopes could soon be sporting a "iceinspace best of the best" award sticker on their boxes
