Houghy with my old eyes and and the large area of the image it is impossible to get rid of gradients. I left it alone as gradient exterminator produces even more artifacts. As I have not seen such a large area at relatively high resolution it could be real. The human senses can be fooled very easily. We are all to used to images that are adjusted for the 'local' conditions to make them look 'correct'. With wide fields this just does not work. Light pollution is also a factor beyond my control. Thanks anyway for the colour assessment.

I like to think of my images as signposts for others to use as a kind GPS to pick bits that look very interesting.

Bert i did not mean to be critical of your image , just saying out aloud what i was seeing, and they are more than signposts - they are flashing neon light saying explore here please
