It must be street lighting filtered through very thin cloud in that case. There was no discolouration around the moon, but the image shows a slightly pink tinge to it.

Thanks for the encouragement. Processing the eclipse has been challenging - another steep learning curve. Still a way to go yet.

I found focus difficult to achieve - could it be that the camera and optics were not at ambient temperature? The moon was sharp in the view finder and I thought so in live view, but the images were fluffy - lots of sharp was required during processing - much more than usual.
