No M/S learnt a lot from the debacle that was vista they released it before it was ready there was no support for hardware drivers and the system was very unstable. Its not the first time they have had problems like this the same thing happened with WIN ME and it still sends shivers down my spine when I see it installed on a PC I have to fix. What do I like about Win 7 the list would be shorter if I listed what I don't like they still don't get it that they should have a Root partition a Home partition with the OS installed in the Root partition and all user data and Programs installed in the home partition that way if something goes wrong with the OS all you do is reinstall the OS and all your data and programs are still installed meaning less headaches when Windows needs rebuilding and your programs are not lost. I really like the problem steps reporting tool it takes snapshots of each step and writes what happened and saves it in a pdf to either send to the tech to see what happened or it can be used to show someone how to do certain tasks. I really like the win shake to close other windows and the way you can drag a window to the top of the screen to make it full screen and the way you can drag the window to the side and it takes up half of the screen and then you can drag another to the other side to do the same great for comparing images to each other. I have had Win 7 and Xp and Vista running on the same computer at different times and Win 7 was heaps faster than both of the others with the same spec's for each. I have an old program I reallly like using it is Sim Earth it is a game but I find it scientific you start with a planet early in its life and seed the planet with life and see what happens. Well this program is old DOS base and wouldn't run on Vista but it will run on Win 7 without even using XP mode I just installed it and away it went. There has been no updated version of Sim Earth which I am constantly wishing someone with the knowhow would make a new one. I think this has been the longest post I have ever written and would have been much longer if I had added all the good things about Win 7.
