Adam PHD can be touchy, and play up at anytime.
I was using PHD with the G11, and it worked perfectly for a couple of years, and then decided it did not want to play anymore.
Proper connections are very important and that can have some issues resolved, it did eventually with mime.
Also pretty accurate polar alignment is important, but I'm sure you have looked at that.
Other than that, I found if I tracked close to the SCP it was critical, that alignment was perfect, the stars seem to go much slower in that area.
