I have a coolpix 5000 and a special adaptor I made for eyepiece projection in 2002. I tried it on a couple of shots of Jupiter and they had as much detail as Venus. I got the special RS232 cable and a program to take subs up to 5 mins. The clouds were around every night from then on and I lost interest. You think your old shots are primative. Take a look at this!
I was going to try it on the LX200 up at Wiruna a few months ago but could not find my cables. I think with modern control programs it may be workable again for an experiment. Must try it sometime.
