Great reviews Greg but I can't understand your concerns about the Gemini system. It's so easy once you have used it a bit. What could be simpler, one button select menu, 2 buttons to scroll through the menu and again the select button to select. Basically the up and down buttons are the scroll directions, the right button is the select and the left is the back or cancel button.
I find I can control most options without any extra light and with ease. The star alignment can appear very long but in reality I can setup my mount and do a cold start which requires a full star alignment and model build and usually get very good pointing accuracy with only a 3 star alignment. For greater accuracy a five star alignment with 3 on one side of the meridian and 2 on the other places selected targets dead center every time.
I have used the park/warm start and one star alignment on many occasions with no problems. I would consider a gemini as one of the best/ most accurate control systems I have used and would not hesitate using it on another mount.
It is what you get used to using and as a field mount does not require the Sky or any other planetarium program to get good results or even to work at all.
Like every mount a good polar alignment is the key.
