I agree in general, but I do not agree the effort is pointless. .

Personally, since I am not religious at all, I can't discuss this
However, I do believe the positive knowledge of exoplanets and alien life existence WILL change some other people's minds.. to some extent at least.
And that change in attitude may change our lives as well.. a bit.
