Yeah, I do thinks its great that exoplanets are been found. But the effort to find more and more and more of them is pointless at this moment, until we can go there, the are just a number in a catalog. They are still an amazing discovery. I think astronomy and science in general is no longer about the where are we from? why are we here? but more how the hell do we get off this rock? where are we going?
As for philosophical answers, meh. Give me hard evidence then we'll talk turkey. ( God created earth is 6 days and on the 7th day rested. Well when did he make those other planets and lifeforms hey. The week before last?)
