At this point in time, does it really matter if we find exoplanets or not. Maybe only for our offspring's offspring's great grandchildren would any of this information be useful as none of us are going to be able to goto any of these planets. Yes, it might be nice to know they are out there and gives us some insight into how the universe formed. But other than that, they are just unreachable goals for at least 5 to 10 generations, even more.
