Good day and how are you.

I have the 8 Inch meade S/N and have the same problem. Changing to a crayford (which i have to do shortly) is the way to go but just be mindful of the fast focal speed of the S/N scope.

There is a crayford on the market make by Moonlight which you can purchase the adapter kit (with extension tube) for the S/N, these are available through theastro shop in Queensland ? astroshop although they apparently can be imported from the USA where they are made . This is important so that you don't have to redrill mounting holes and chew out a larger hole in the OTA.

As I do both imaging and viewing you are continually removing and replacing the extension tube anyhow. Mine is also complicated as i also use binoviewers that require a barlow nosepiece to get to focus.
