Not nearly in the same league, but a few years ago before I moved out of town, I used to set up in a quarry in the middle of a local state forest. They then allowed spotlight hunting in the same forest.
No biggie... I'm pretty well protected inside the quarry... until they started to use the quarry again and erected fences and penalty signs etc. So I'd setup at the entrance to the quarry which was on top of a hill so it give excellent views to the west but little shelter from any wind.
One night while observing the shooters came around flashing the spotlight and just so they'd know I was there I played my green laser pointer across their vehicle... How was I to know they thought it was a laser sight???
I'd have been happy if they drove up and acknowledged I was there or even questioned what I was doing shining a laser at them, but no... they left very quickly, and that suited me fine too

I'm glad I generally don't have to worry too much about firearms here.
