Darn it! All these posts and cloudy nights are making my fingers itchy!
I'm a bit toward your approach Allan, Keep it simple....So, a couple of questions which I suspect you may have already posted elsewhere on IIS, if so, please advise
Do you think it's necessary to change out the big DEC/RA bearings or just the worm bearings, and can you get them locally (Bris) or is Ebay the way?
Do you think it's necessary to re-do the teflon shims thing?, and the stepper motor intermediate drive shim thing some mention?
Finally, did you do the stepper gears clearance adjustment and if so using what? Alfoil, plastic?
