It is possible that a special optional T-Ring is available to allow connection of a DSLR camera directly to the focuser without requiring the 2" section thereby saving valuable focus travel. This would put the film plane of the camera much closer to the mirror and at a similar position to that of an eyepiece.
Tectron Telescopes used to make a special dual purpose focuser with removable R&P section that was replaced with a helical draw tube with lock ring. The idea was to attach the camera to the helical section and adjust the lock ring so that it the camera was parfocal with the R&P section and suitable eyepiece. Alas this was many moons ago but it worked very well and had no vignetting.
