Jupiter, May 14, RGB + CH4

Seeing was not very good this morning, no fog but some residual jetstream activity.

The RGB image is the best 1600 frames in each of R,G,B from 3300 raw frames (60 seconds @ 55fps each channel) and the Methane image is 274 frames, 90 seconds @ 3fps, binned 2x2 ( Format7 Mode1 320x240). The binning mode worked very well for the methane data, the lower spatial resolution being offset by the shorter exposures. The raw frames were resampled 3x before processing and then scaled back to 2x, so the final image is the same scale as the RGB data.

In the Methane image you can see Oval BA setting at lower right, it's very bright. Also the NNTrZ red spot shows up bright in methane. In the RGB image the SEB continues to be an interesting mix of pale green/yellow and blue.

regards, Bird
