-38 is pointed at from the NW by a mag 10, 10.5 *s (HJ 2690) that are about 15* apart in about PA 90 a few arcmins away. Seems elong in about PA 90, oval 1' x 30" very LSB outer halo growing weakly to centre where you occasionally get a hint of a weak streak-like core through the centre. -48 is about 10' E.

-48 a much lengthened very LSB skinny, beautiful streak of gossamer 3' long x 10" in PA 0, growing weakly to the axis nr centre with n zones, core or nucleus.

-56 is another 12' NE from -48 and is even more beautiful in PA 0, better SB than -48 and maybe even larger, 4' x 15" pointing in the direction of a couple of mag 12 *s near its N tip. Long spindle shape, growing slightly to centre where there is a fairly large, weakly brighter streak-like core in the centre. MCG +1-35-50 is 6' N of -48.

MCG +1-35-50 is a very small spot of weak gossamer, round growing weakly to centre with no apparent core or nucleus. Very LSB.

This eg forms a long skinny tri with mags 13 & 14 *s to its W about 3-4' away. Seems elong in about PA 60, small oval 1' x 40" with a fairly strong or somewhat stronger oval core in the same PA. Pretty good SB overall and easy to see.

-63 and 64 are both quite bright and large egs. -64 is about 4.5' x 3' in about PA 45 and has a tri of 2 mag 14 & mag 12 & * to the NW -- the 2 mag 14 *s are just outside the edge of the visible halo.. Lowish SB outer halo growing broadly and slightly to the centre where there is a large 1.5 x 1' core zone growing further slightly to centre but no apparent nucleus. Bright and attractive.

-63 is 3' SW of a mag 8*. Has higher SB More round and has a very bright core with an apparent double nucleus. Slightly oval in PA 150, 2.5' x 2' brightens mod and evenly to centre where there is a mag 13 * barely off-centre to the SW by a few arc-seconds beside the real, somewhat fainter spot nucleus that is only weakly brighter than the bright core.

-60 is 5' W of -64 and is much elong in PA 90 with a mag 14 * at the W tip. 1' x 20" brightening weakly to centre with no evidence of core or nucleus.

-66 appears to the SSW of a distracting mag 14.5 * which is barely on the halo to the NE edge. Small, reasonable SB halo, round, probably 30-40" diameter and grows evenly and slightly to the centre but no evidence of core or nucleus. MCG +0-36-3 is 3' S of -66.

Small to very small spindle spiral, much lower in SB and more difficult to see. 30" x 2"? no structure very, very LSB.

This eg seems fainter than the DSS shows it and is pointed at from the SW by mags 13.5 & 14.5 *s. Probably 40" diameter, round and grows broadly and slightly to centre where there is a faint stellar nucleus or bright stellaring.

Of these three the brightest is NGC 5400 but probably not quite as good in the ep as one might expect from the DSS. Found to the NE by 5' from a mag 11 *. Small, round, 50" diameter growing from indefinite edges broadly and slightly to centre where there is a small, weakly brighter zone .

IC 968 is 3.5' S and looks like two very tiny side-by-side E-W spots of gossamer, almost in contact about 15" diameter each. Very, very LSB no structure.

PGC 49857 is to the NW 5' from -00. Very, very small to tiny weak haze, pretty close to threshold and about 15" diameter.

These three egs are in a I tri that is almost Eq Tri, about 7' a side with NGC 5442 at the E point. NGC 5442 also sits in a nice almost Eq tri of mag 10 *s about 11' a-side. Quite elong in about PA 135 1.25' x 10" lowish SB grows broadly and slightly to the axis nr centre where there is a small slightly brighter axial streak core and a whiff of a stellaring in the centre.

IC 4361 is 10' SW of -42 and only a couple of arc-mins to the SE of a mag 7.5 *. as a very small 30 x 20" oval of very LSB mist in about PA 150.

IC 4363 is NW 8' from -42 between mags 7 & 8 *s aligned almost N-S about 15' apart. Slightly elong in PA 0 weak oval of mist about 30 x 20" with a weak brightening to centre with no apparent core or nucleus. Very LSB difficult (both ICs).

This eg appear just to the N, about 5' of a wide-ish mags 10 & 11 pair in PA 75. Very LSB streak of gossamer, pretty sizable, in PA 60, 2' x 10" of very LSB mist to gossamer brightening weakly to centre but no core or nucleus evident.

This eg appears to the SSE by 3' from a very faint pair of mag 14.5 *s and it has a mag 13.5 * W by 1.5'. Seems round, pretty good size, 1.25 - 1.5' fairly LSB with indefinite edges growing broadly and slightly to centre with no apparent core or nucleus.

Very faint and very small eg, round found just to the E of a mag 11.5 * that has a mag 14.5 companion to its N, by 3'. Maybe nearly 1' diameter, looks bigger than the DSS image, perhaps 50", round indefinite edges growing broadly and slightly to centre without zones or apparent nucleus.

This eg is found a little to the SW from a mag 12.5 * and there is also a mag 14.5 * on the edge of the halo at the NE and another at mag 15 at the SW extremity. Small, slightly oval in PA 60, 1' x 50" slightly oval, lowish to fairly low SB growing from indefinite edges growing broadly and slightly to centre where there is a weakly to slightly brighter, very small core-zone dead centre.

This is a very tiny, 20" long but reasonable SB edge on Sp in about PA 0. For its size, the SB is quite reasonable. Grows mod and evenly to centre where there is a short mod br streak core.

-89 is 8' due W of a 7th mag * and seems better than the DSS shows it. Small round and fairly faint, about 40" diameter, fairly easy to see grows slightly and evenly to centre where there sometimes seems to be a faint stellaring. 6' NW past a mag 13 * is -88.

-88 is very similar just a little fainter and a fraction smaller than -89.
