I think your original (or the one I can see in the first post is nicer / more pleasing to the eye than the closeup.
This could be because the closeup reveals a bit too much the effct onthe stars within the galazy of some processessing such as contrast or unsharp mask. the edge of these stars is a bit too sharp i think inthe closeup.
I really like the shot in the first post personally, ad I have a general liking for a nice black background but i know i'm the exception on this
