In this case ' a flood' - so he dedides to save some livestock, his livestock,builds a small vessel to withstand the impending disaster and manages to survive it. Time and mythology start to blend into a much expanded version of the event.
Millenia later Chinese evangelists find the vessel.
Yeah they may indeed have found Noah's Ark - but that doesn't make the biblical story true.
Not a bad story but not what happened. I can't say any more just yet.

Apropos whether this is a atheist vs jew/christian/muslim debate I would conjecture that many in the latter category won't be convinced that this 'discovery' is genuine either.
