I reckon Donna was great and should have been the next doctor. In this last regeneration, the doctor wonders about his gender, so clearly it doesn't have to be always male. Anyway, the new bloke seems quite good.
BUT THEY HAVE RUINED THE THEME MUSIC, THE BEST TV MUSIC EVER WRITTEN!
They seemed to do this after Peter Davison's turn as the doctor as well.
I enjoyed it in spite of this crime.
