Afternoon everyone,

I was out doing some wide field imaging last night when something terrible happened, I was using EOS utilities when all the sudden it stopped working for no apparent reason.

Its now afternoon the following day and I still cant connect up to the camera properly. the software has been un-installed, re-installed, updated, drivers deleted etc etc and I have hunted down as many registry entries as possible relating to the camera. I'm starting to think I may have to do a reformat of the laptop.

Previous to this problem the setup has worked faultlessly for nearly a year
The symptoms are as follows;

1. The EOS 1000d is detected on usb by the HP Mini

2. Images can be downloaded from the camera via usb

3. Remote Capture is not possible. The menu does not change from grey to white.

4. The camera and cable have been tested correct by hooking it into another computer and successfully taken shots.

Any technical advice would be greatly appreciated. I am at wits end and I really have no desire to reformat a mini-pc without a cd/dvd drive.
