I absolutely LOVED "Band of Brothers" (have watched the whole series at least 3 times), and early indications are that The Pacific is just as good if not better.

Really really excited! I know I'll be buying the box set as soon as it's available!
After watching the Advertising Trailer on the TV I was totally turned off. Luckily I had just watched the US Airways thingy, and it started playing just after. Once I saw the into credits to The Pacific I realised it was made to follow-up Band of Brothers, so knew it would be good.

It was a good two episodes. I enjoyed them.

I wish someone would do the same thing for the Battle of Long Tan (D. Company 6 RAR versus D445 NVA), that was an amazing event. A small group of us had the privilege of taking them (the Vets) down to the range for a shoot of the new Steyr Aug's the Army bought back in 89; such great people to spend some time with.

From time-to-time during 'The Pacific', it story breaks and the actual Vets talk about their experiences and how they felt at the time (as with Band of Brothers also). I can't help but hear the same type of people in both programs, even though they all look different, they all have the same humble, honest and empathetic demeanor...the Long Tan Vets I met were exactly the same; not a hint of ego amongst them.

I think the wrong people are the world leaders quite honestly.

Yes, if this comes out in a box-set, I'll be getting one for sure.
The Pacific, Band of Brothers and From the Earth to the Moon for those cold, wet winter evenings.
