In my opinion that picture is an illustration, not the physical object
An asteroid does not give of stuff like a comet which that picture is of.
At 45.000 kms the object about the size of a 10-storey building - would be miniscule, and would need a scope or a pair of good binoculars to see, depending how bright it got.
Objects like this come by every now and then an have been searched for by amateurs with various results
