tried the same area last night - gee i love the observatory. What i thought was going to be a long night ended up only being 50 odd minutes as the cloud rolled in. Have done a quick process just to show the difference in length of time for the shot. 50 minutes iso 800 ed127 and the cooled camera and a very quick stack in DSS and processed in Pixinsight 1.6 - the focus looks a little soft for some reason - could be due to the high cloud
and i know the trap region is too bright but i forgot to take some short exposures
