This image was also taken over the October long weekend from my backyard and recently processed.
It is a stack of 6 images ranging in exposure from 63 seconds to 390 seconds- atotal of nearly 16 minutes.
-Scope ED 80
-Mount CG5 -autoguided
-Camera Canon 300D
The distinctive central bar in M4 is quite apparent. NGC 6144 is also visible in this cropped image...
while that is good unfortunately none of the nebulosity of IC 4605 which suurounds this globular has been picked up in this image.
My idea was to mosaic this with an earlier image of the Antares region which was taken from a dark site
http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/s...hlight=antares..
unfortunately that is not going to be possible...just illustrates how very difficult it is to mosaic DSOs taken from different locations even with the same gear
no other option but to wait till next year and try image this and sigma scorpii from a dark site next year

... and hope I can mosaic these then!!
