OK, I'll bite re SXW/D- but this has been said elsewhere and this thread is really G11/Altux based - so what is your image scale?

I found the SXW mount to be ok in RA (the PE was +/- 20" or so but fairly smooth) but DEC was hopeless - backlash could be adjusted down to about 5s or so but would never hold at that level and would go out to 10 or even 20s with use. This meant any DEC reversals would result in failed fames and, more often than not, lost guide stars. I was imaging at 0.75 " per pixel so it was a tough ask...then again the G11 has no issues withthe same task and I am pretty sure the Atlux would cope as well.

And I did not have to strip and re-grease the G11 for it to work properly either - that sort of action should not be required with a quality mount.
