Here is what I have found very successful:
1. I use a hurricane blower bulb.
2. Only if the lens is quite dusty do I clean otherwise I leave it.
3. Bintel cleaning fluid. Its a great formula and works really well.
4. Dab on the Bintel cleaning fluid with several cotton puffs.
5. Wipe with several non scented white tissues never using the same one twice. Use only a smallish area before discarding.
6. Use blower bulb to get rid of any tissue lint.
That works well and only takes a few minutes. Under bright lighting and clean conditions. Use a torch if needed to be able to see the lens at different angles to catch any areas missed.
