These are my contenders for the challenge. This time I've concentrated around the south galactic pole. Again, something for everyone.
* The Coal Sack: spans across Crux and Centaurus. A stunning naked eye object in a dark site.
* NGC 5189: The Spiral Planetary. In Musca. Seen in small instruments, detail in larger scopes.
* NGC 4372: Globular cluster in Musca. Obscured by dust, but begins to resolve in 6" scopes.
* NGC 2573: Galaxy Polarissima Australis, in Octans. A faint galaxy, very close to the south galactic pole. Could be testing.
* NGC 3059: Face on galaxy in Carina. Near circular and with detail in larger scopes.
Mental.
