The fact that they are vertical lines suggests to me it is CCD or camera related. I can't quite work out how seeing will result in perfectly straight vertical lines.

These ones were done in Registax 5 and finishing in PS CS3. I have Avistack, but to be honest I don't have a handle on it yet. Sometimes it works better for me and sometimes not, but I find it very slow
