What a monster of a galaxy

This galaxy is a big guy but lies so low from my north location that on several attempts it just could not be seen. I have only seen it once 'properly' a few weeks ago from down your way as one of the objects that just HAS to be observed from way down in the south.

Really one of the finest amateur (or other) pics of this object that I can recall. The golden slightly carbon star up top and the subtle ESO 219-25 peeking in from lower left add to the great dust texture.
