As an educator I can tell you from my observations most kids do know the difference between right and wrong and have been well directed by their parents. As usual it is the one percenters that cause most of the trouble and even this is a general sweeping statement. Many of these kids are from broken homes, violent homes or even worse no home at all ( I have taught many such kids). They recieve no guidence and are left to their own means so just make up thier own rules. Drug and alcohol abuse are major factors which lead to crime and other deviate behaviours. Parents...teach your children well and perhaps we can survive this kaos created by limp wristed ledgislators and overly leaniant courts.
