Ive been saying for a long time that the 27mm panoptic is a great eyepiece in an f5 dob, close to being the perfect widefield at less than nagler prices.
My 24mm pano doesnt barlow well either. For the longer panoptics, Televue sells what they call a "panoptic barlow interface", so they are obviously aware that there are issues.
