I would recommend the EQDIR, but have a serious look at getting a USB version. A few of the guys have gone wireless which is good too, but its 2 or 3 devices to achieve the same thing.
EQDIR will allow you much better pointing accuracy than you can achieve with the hand controller alone. Pulse guiding I have heard can be more accurate than the GPUSB I have heard, but to be honest if your guiding is working, its working!
Seeing will usually mean you'll never see the difference.
