A good start Paul,
I have seen many excellent images on various astronomy forums around the world taken with a C 9.25 so you definitely have a scope capable of producing top quality planetary images.
As for the colour, I would suggest that you be guided by the histogram.
Also, record all of your capture settings so that you have a record of what works and what doesn't. Take extreme care with the collimation of your scope and the focus and learn by experience.
