Here is my effort for the month. I took this last week, when I saw the mantid (about 8mm long) moving around the rim of a purple gift bag, hence the colouring.
I have been unable to find out what species it is, hence the delay in posting. I emailed the Qld Museum, who normally reply in 2 or 3 days, but so far nothing.........
Canon 40D with 100mm macro, + 20 & 36mm tubes, and flash.
