The inside diameter is 35cm approximately.
The distance from the centre to the outside of a focus hole is 154mm.
You probably do not want focus holes being outside the tube diameter.
The cover is held in place by 3 plastic screws.
I guess the screws could be removed and replaced by longer ones.
Some stryofoam cut to size could be used for padding.
