Interesting results so far.
The filter hasn't had any real effect on visual use but has had quite the effect on the photos. I've been testing it out on M42. The background darkens a little, but there is no seeable difference in nebulosity. In the photos however, it quite effectively blackens the sky while keeping the colour and shape of the nebula. Is this what is to be expected, or do my eyes need more dark adaptation time?
