Yes that is true indeed.. but while im imaging at F/6 and slower, I'll stick with saying "more data needed" as collecting more data is cheaper and easier than collecting a big fast optical system...
Marc's results with his C11 Hyperstar are a perfect example I guess.. 11" F/1.8 setup, doing beautiful shots of IC434 and M16 with just 30x30sec subs..
