I made my own long johns out of polar fleece.
They work a treat.
Stick to the microfibres. Wool will be itchy.
Over top I wear a pair of waterproof snow trousers. The outer material is very tough, so I can be down on the ground, fiddling with the scope and not worry about getting wet from dew.
