Technically, I do have a dob! I built an 8" Newt back in the 80s, complete with pipe mount. I converted it to a dob in the 90s.
I got to the point where I wanted to do some astrophotography so I either had to get a decent eq mount for my Newt or really splash out and get an SCT - I went with the SCT!
Will I ever get another (bigger) dob? I wouldn't rule it out!
Thanks everyone, for the welcome. I think it's my fault that the whole east coast is covered in cloud - I bought a new eyepiece last week and - guess what - it's been cloudy ever since!
