To me eclipses are just the best excuse for going to unusual and interresting places.
And I certainly now have a new favourite Tee Shirt.
Trevor, your comments on altitude - At least on this trip there was a good time for acclimatisation, and I didnt have any issues. I also once drove to the top of Mauna Kea (to watch a sunset partial eclipse). And I was so affected by the change in altitude that I saw that the images I was capturing were out of focus and I didnt care! I sure did when I came down and looked over them.
Tony on the Astrofest talk - you know that if you start me talking about my favourite subject it's hard to stop me. I am planning on going for the week so it is a possability. See what you get for other talks.
