Yep. A trail bike is a generic general purpose sort of off road bike that you can probably register and ride on the road. Brett's bike is an enduro bike... think of it as halfway between a trail bike and a motocross bike, but these days trail bike seems to be a broad category that includes trail, enduro, trials and motocross bikes at times.

A trials bike is a bit more extreme, usually not registerable these days (the old ones could be) built for negotiating difficult terrain - typically places you can't walk. They have a similar power to weight ratio as an F1 car. It's a challenging sport.

Not that I plan to get too extreme. I used to ride trials in the old days when I was young. Now I want a bike I can ride around the property and play on, learning the new techniques and getting some exercise and sharpen up my balance and control skills.
