Filters to suit light pollution of varying magnitude

Hi everyone,

I have been reading up on LP filters and came across the following article @ cloudy nights and noted that filters selection needs to be made depending on the VLMag.

Living in Westmead (Paramatta) I was wondering if any of you guys are taking astro photos and if so which filters are you using and whats your observations. These filters cost a fair amount and its worth hearing from the experts before I make a decision.

I'm tending towards the Hutech IDAS @ almost 300 dollars and would like to know if I can get anything cheaper or should I go narrowband with such high amount of LP in Sydney.

Let me know?

Regards
