How about hopping down to the local plumbing shop and getting some suitable sized drainage or sewer pipe (PVC) and a couple of end caps. Cut the pipe lengthways on each side, put a couple of hinges on one side and a couple of catches on the other, then trim your foam to fit. You could even screw a handle on it to carry it.

Would that do?
