Only 40?
We've had several of those this summer. The Melbourne/Adelaide/Broken Hill/etc crowd could say the same.
You'll even more notice the reduced humidity and being able to sleep. 1am with mid to high 20s and 30% is much more comfortable than 1am with high 20s or 30s and 90+%.
You could network the obs and run it from the cool of the house. Also the warmth of the house in winter.
I think we'll have to install a second split system for the area the one we have doesn't cool/heat, or upgrade to ducted.
