Two things though. You should get more frames 75 is a little light, so back of the quality a little and try again. More frames will help with reducing the grainy texture and help when you resample. Next thing you need to get is a barlow or powermate. You know the results will be bigger and better to work on.

Much improved though and well on your way to getting fine images. Beware though, you are now heading down the path of perfectionism.

Keep em coming.
rumples,

i started with the colour raw mod last night and using iris5.1 for capture, seem to capture fine, but had a hell of a time trying to process ie stack, align etc in iris, so backed off the raw and went back to factory setting at 5fps. Used iris again ti capture and i get 15 to 20 secs for the image to cross my field of view ie the middle 2/3's.

i took 2 passes so 150 frames in total.

followed you instructions for registax, which were great!

i went to try resampling, but i think because the image is not centred (ie due to lack of tracking) the resampling stuffs up and i get floating point errors. ppmcentre reckons there is not enough detail to work with????

also i tried adjusting exposure and gain. 1/33 and 1/50 no gain = bright white disc. 1/500 and 1/1000 seems to give the best histogram, which i included for your perusal. Is this what you were meaning getting them to the right? Is this histogram ok?

ice is sending me his two older barlows and i should have in next few days, so lets see how they go.

what do you use with your raw capture iris, k3ccd???

thanks for your help!
